Pastor Eric Wilson is the oldest of three children born to Naomi and Clifford Wilson October 31, 1950.  A native Houstonian, he is a graduate of Phillis Wheatley High School and a graduate with honors from the Commonwealth Institute of Funeral Services.  He also attended Houston College of Biblical Studies, Texas College of Biblical Studies, and Bishop College.

Having been raised in his grandfather’s home, values such as hard work, humility, and sacrifice were instilled in him at an early age.  His secular working career includes employment with Hughes Tools Co. as a machine operator, Harris County as a building supervisor and plant operator, Exxon Company, USA, Baytown Refinery, Paradise Cemetery as a cemetery manager, and is currently employed with Carl Barnes Funeral Home as the managing Funeral Director.

Growing up in his grandfather’s home, (the late deacon Matthew Wilson, of the Mt. Zion Baptist Church under the late Pastor F. L. Dickey),  Pastor Wilson was taught the value of serving God and serving God’s people.  His spiritual experiences include membership, with Mt. Zion Baptist Church, Fifth Ward Baptist Church, where he was baptized by the late Rev. F. W. McIlveen, Fontaine First Baptist Church,  Little Rock Baptist Church, Greater Galilee Baptist Church, and currently Spring Antioch Baptist Church.

To date, Pastor Wilson has been preaching twenty one years and pastoring fifteen years. He preached his first sermon April 30, 1993 as a member of the Fontaine First Baptist Church, under the leadership of Pastor J. H. Brown.  Shortly after that God led him to join the Little Rock Baptist  Church where Rev. C. E. Jenkins was the pastor.  It was there the Lord molded and developed him to become the founding pastor of the Spring Antioch Baptist Church.  God used Pastor Wilson to organize Spring Antioch Baptist Church on the Fifth Sunday in May 1999.

Pastor Wilson’s ecclesiastical accomplishments included member of the Board of  Directors, Pastor’s Staff, and Trustee of Little Rock Baptist Church. He is also a member of the Baptist Minister Alliance of Greater Houston and Vicinity, Metropolitan Minister Alliance,  South Texas District Association, Union Baptist Association and Lincoln Southern District Association where he has served as Vice President of the Ministers’ Conference and Vice Moderator of the Association. He is currently President of the association’s Minister’s Conference. He is also President of the Spring Community Development Corporation. Pastor Wilson is also a charter member of the Old Town Spring Heights Task Force

Pastor Wilson is also a sincere family man.  He has been married to his lovely wife Patricia for nearly forty years.  They have one son, Eric and one granddaughter, Erica.  He’s extremely close to his brother Gerald and wife Marsherria, his sister Toni and her husband Robert, his sisters-in-law, Judy Hooper and Sandra Curvey, his brother- in-law Elvee Green, his nieces Shinika, Kelli, and their children and his nephew Dante. He is currently raising Shannon, the only child of his recently deceased niece, Shontina.  He had a great deal of love and devotion to his mother-in-law Mary Green and niece Shontina.  He was absolutely devoted to his mother, Naomi Wilson.  Pastor Wilson’s hobbies include attending any type of sporting event and watching television. He has recently taken up golf.  His passion however is coaching little league baseball and football, which he hopes to return to one day.

We are the church striving to meet all of the needs, all of the people, all of the time.
